*** Sorry about the poor picture quality. I had to beg borrow and steal these because my camera was dead :(
Soooo...
(Drum roll please)
I had a few more sewing conquest this week!
I think this is seriously the best I have ever done at a new year's resolution.
Before I share the conquest let me get the most important stuff out of the way.
My girls in their Easter dresses! ;)
so stinking cute right!?!
I now understand why people sew for their children more than for themselves.
It is WAY more rewarding
Because they are WAY cuter!
Now my sewing conquest came with my dress.
A little disclaimer first.
I am not wild about my dress.
I know this is so typical girl of me but I think it makes me look fat. :(
I know I am so silly, but it's the truth.
On to the positive.
I followed my first store bought pattern to make this dress.
(Am I the only one who feels like a total idiot looking at a pattern!?)
I made my first button hole.
And I made bias tape for the first time!
Woop!
I am so proud of my sewing conquest
but
not so proud of the finished project.
Dang, I was so close ;)
As for my dumb dumb move for this project:
I bought the wrong size pattern... which lead to A LOT of seam ripping and half of the reason why I am not to pleased with the outcome. silly silly me.
lots of love
I'm linking to some fun parties!
I think your dress is cute and so in style, anytime you can make something and wear it, you should feel proud, not all my projects make it on to my blog, some end up in the trash pile.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement! I am having tons of fun- that's what really matters, right! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Buttonholes and bias tape are two pretty big steps for one dress. It looks great. Sizing is always a pretty brutal challenge.
